Media Credentialing Instructions

The Communications staff of The Recording Academy^® will do everything in its power to credential as many media outlets as space will allow. However, the STAPLES Center media center has very limited space available. Due to the overwhelming amount of interest, we will not be able to accommodate everyone. We would appreciate your cooperation in keeping your requests to a minimum.

TO REQUEST CREDENTIALS

The Recording Academy will not accept any requests made via phone, e-mail or fax. All requests must be submitted via this online application. If your organization is planning to submit multiple credential requests, please designate a "credential manager" to log in and make all of the submissions for your organization. When you are finished with the online form, you will receive an application number that corresponds with your credential request.

DEADLINE TO APPLY/CREDENTIAL NOTIFICATION

The deadline to apply for media credentials is Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 5 p.m. PT. Due to the overwhelming number of applications, there will be no exceptions to this deadline. Please submit the online application even if you do not have your entire crew/staff determined at this time; it is imperative to apply prior to the deadline. If you apply in time, you will receive notification of your credential status starting Thursday, January 8. Please do not call to inquire about your status before then. Please DO NOT make travel arrangements until your credential status has been confirmed by The Recording Academy.

TECHNICAL NEEDS

A Technical Request Order Form (to obtain power, phone lines, etc.) must be filled out by every organization requesting credentials. The form is available to download at the end of this application process, and must be filled out and submitted via e-mail to the contact information provided on the form no later than Tuesday, January 13, 2009.

Please note that your organization's technical requests will NOT be processed until you have received confirmation of your credential status. Each organization is responsible for its own technical support and any cost that it may incur.
